What an interesting article. I definitely agree that if a child has a passion (for example Legos, trains, dinosaurs, Disney princesses, etc.) utilize that passion to create learning experiences that utilize their passions. I love Legoland too. We used to live on Camp Pendleton and had annual passes. It's so clean and many times we had the park to ourselves! Thanks for sharing the article.

My son LOVES Legos. He gets a new set for birthdays, holidays and rewards. He can put together pretty complicated sets without much effort. It was interesting that the doctor noticed that many autistic children would ignore a room full of toys and usually go straight to the legos. My son definitely falls into that group.

we have been using leggo's for a while now. We bought the grid that is clear plastic and place it on top of the picture Julian will be making and he has to look in the bin for the right colors and then place them on the grid. when finished we lift it up and he sees is work completed.

Great for hand eye co-ordination and very fine motor skills, and even applying pressure. The removal of the pieces works the same only backwards.
