Okay, most of you have seen my post on how I want to open an indoor playground for our little ones with no blinking bells and quarter video games however I need help. HOW DO I GET STARTED? Do I walk into a bank and just tell them what I am doing and ask for money, do I need a business plan and how the heck do I write a business plan. I want to do this so much and everyone in my family and around me keep telling me I need to do a market analysis. Blah blah blah. I just want to do it! Any input would help.
There is this place called hop and shop, it is in the mall the point is you take your kids there and drop them off while you shop, or you stay there and watch them play. You can also have birthday parties there. It is a huge sensory room is all that it is. They have jumpers, swings, scooters, its all padded, its so awesome. I think this is kid of what you are talking about, i dont know if they are a franchise or not if so you could always buy one of those. Or You could contact them and ask them to help you set on up where you are... I know what you are talking about is a little differnt. If you are looking to go out and just start your own thing, i would suggest taking a business class at your area community college. i will attach the link. best luck keep me up to date. http://www.hopshoppartyplay.com/
You do need to start with a business plan - it's not as complicated or scary as it sounds and it helps you think through your idea. Here is a link to SCORE's business plan template. SCORE is another great organization that uses retire business people to consult with new business owners and entrepreneurs. We used them to get started and bounce ideas off of them. http://www.score.org/template_gallery.htmlIf the link doesn't work just retype into the browser - and then also look through the rest of the SCORE website and the Small Business Administrations website (SBA) - they have simple ways to start. Believe me, a well thought out plan (who is the market, how does it make money, how much will it cost, etc?) impresses the bank. We've started one business and are working on another so feel free to email me privately. Great work and good luck.Cathy
