So, I was wondering if anyone else has a child that is HIGHLY INTERESTED when an info-mercial comes on to the television. So far my son feels I will need the Buxton Organizer for my birthday, his dad needs Muddy Puddy, and the other day I was cleaning the hard wood floors and my son came around the corner and asked with great excitement "are you using Orange Glo?", then when I was cleaning the toilets he wanted to know why I wasn't using Kaboom! His father came home the other day with Orange Glo and our son was so excited like it was Christmas or something. He also is hooked on the Charmin Ultra and that carpet commercial even when he was a baby he would be in the other room and hear the commercial, drop what he was doing and run in to see it. Just a funny to share with all.

Have so been there! When my 10 year old HFA son was younger, he was convinced we needed SEARS for everything due to a clever ad compaign....He is still highly influenced by what he sees in ads. He believes that the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is indeed magic and will fix anything (I beg to differ considering what his brother has done to the flat paint on the walls...) Now that he is a BIG FAN of Kid TV, he knows all the ads directed at tweens, and if he can remember the spelling (thankfully he is a lousy speller), he will go to the website of just about any commercial he sees to find out more about products he is interested in - also involving his younger brother, who is in the moderate range of functioning (very intelligent, but more affected by his autism). They both go to the fast food restaurant sites to check out the toys being given out, know all kinds of things about Floam, Carnation Instant Breakfast (which neither of them will eat - but both have read extensively about), other cereal sites, etc. My advice (and I am just being funny here) - don't let them alone with the TV and a credit card after 18... I could picture an entire Fed-Ex truck pulling up to my house dropping off a pallet of Floam... Or Mr. Clean Magic Erasers.Wendy
