Home schooling?

Just curious if anyone is or is planning to next year. Let us know how it is going and maybe reveal some good tips. We do a combination of part time at a small private school and carry over for the home schooling.

Re: Home schooling?

If I ever find that my son is not thriving in his school, I will pull him and homeschool. I think I may be able to reach him better.

Re: Home schooling?

I currently homeschool my two eldest daughters (dyslexia, age 16 and Aspergers, age 12).  My 9-year old daughter (ADHD) attends school, although she was homeschooled for a year, and my 4-year old son on the spectrum is in a developmental preschool program with additional private therapies.  We've been homeschooling for the past 3 years, and I have found the girls really thrive on it.  I have begun to examine the possibility of pulling the younger two out in the next couple of years to homeschool but right now, the routine of school and therapies seems to serve them best there.  Homeschooling can be done a number of ways suitable for each child involved, but the one major thing that it requires is organization!   We set general educational goals, plan lesson plans, and then work in that direction.  if it takes a little longer, or diverts off onto a tangent subject, that's okay...but know what your general framework and objectives are.
