Happy Holidays!
That time of year is upon us and I wanted to let you know about a way to get some gorgeous note cards while supporting the work of a talented young man who is very challenged by autism.
I've known the artist Andy Randall and his mom Jan for many years now. It has been wonderful to see his artistic talent develop and become professionally recognized as he has had several successful showings in the Mass/RI area. And I am so thankful that he and his mom found his special calling! Painting is not only relaxing and self-satisfying for Andy, but the World is richer because he is able to share his unique talent with others.
To see samples of his work, visit http://www.rubbersuitstudios.com/andy_randall.htm.
Also below, please find a personal email from Andy's mom, Jan. Jan, by the way, is a Parent Resource Specialist at Community Autism Resources in Swansea, MA, a non-profit agency serving thousands of families with children with autism.
In her email, Jan provides all the details for ordering these gorgeous note cards (perfect for aides, therapists, teachers, etc.). In addition to note cards, selected original paintings are also available for purchase. Should you have any questions, please email her at janneane7@aol.com.
Wishing you a Peaceful Holiday,
Cheryl Gaudino

Andy's Bio:
Andrew Randall is an “Outsider Artist” with no formal training. Diagnosed at the age of 3 with Autism, he has struggled since that time with things that most of us take for granted, like communicating with ease, being able to regulate sensory information and understanding social rules.
He was introduced to painting at the age of 19 at a recreational group for teens and young adults with Autism. The group facilitators noticed immediately how much Andrew enjoyed painting, and he was encouraged him to explore this new found talent. Andrew takes great pride in his work and he also finds it to be a very fulfilling and relaxing outlet.
Andrew creates his beautiful and intriguing abstract paintings using acrylic on canvas. He often adds sand to the paint because he loves the interesting textures it creates, and the ability it gives him to add dimensions to his work. He uses a unique method of brushstroke which seems to be a form of meditation for Andrew. First, he fills the canvas with vertical and horizontal strokes and then he adds swirls of color and texture by twirling his brush against the canvas. The result is unpredictable combinations of color and explosive forms of textured paint.
Andrew’s method of painting is intuitive, as he uses no visuals references when he creates. To the outside observer, Andrew’s use of color can be viewed as a nonverbal communication of inner complicated emotions. Due to his limited language, we cannot know just what it is that inspires him, but it is clear that he paints from the heart. Currently his favorite subject to paint is the ocean, which is one of his favorite places.
Andrew comes from a family of artists including his Grandfather, Al Baker, and his sister Allison Randall. Some of his paintings are available for sale and some are available on Note Cards. Questions about his work can be sent to janneane7@aol.com.
