I made Nathan a weighted belt once. I got two 1 1/2 lb ankle weights (the kind with velcro wrap-arounds) and attached them to each other. Once adjusted, he could attach it to himself whenever needed. He doesn't use it anymore but it was simple and cheap. 
I think he would enjoy a weighted blanket though! Thanks for the link.
