HBOT Treatment Center -- North Carolina

Hello everyone -- My name is Kara, and I am a divorced, single mom to John (age 5).  My career plans changed indefinitely when he was diagnosed with autism at 19 months, and I have been a full-time advocate on his behalf ever since.  In 2005, I created the website www.LittleCanaries.org to educate my friends and family about the array of biomedical treatment options available to help John and other kids with neuroimmune disorders.  The site took on a life of its own and now serves to help parents from all over the world.

In an effort to ensure that John never has to go without the single-most effective treatment he has received to date, I recently mortgaged my last bit of collateral to take over ownership of a mild hyperbaric treatment center from a friend.  We are located at the heart of the Research Triangle in Cary, North Carolina.  We are 25 minutes from the Duke University Medical Center, and only 5 minutes from the nearest hospital.  Our medical director is Karen Harum, M.D. (a DAN! doctor), and Ann Hines is on our Medical Advisory Board (also a DAN! doctor).  Our specialty is treating kids like John who are on the spectrum.  But, that being said, we'll treat just about anybody who needs our help.  If you're interested in checking us out, go to www.BreathOfLifeTreatment.com.

Re: HBOT Treatment Center -- North Carolina

Hi Kara-
thanks for sharing your story.  I would love to hear more personal accounts of what HBOT is doing for kids with autism.  Can you share some of the success stories?  Can you give some detail about how many "dives" are needed before improvement is seen?  What sort of  progress of kids making?  Is it speech, motor skills, academic skills, alertness, health improvements, ability to come off diets etc....Would definitely like to learn more.
Thanks!

Thanks Kara,

Do people typically travel to see you or just local?  Would you recommend this as a good local business or is it a tough business to be in as the costs are so high?
