All Cats Have Asperger Syndrome

I found this book for my son at B&N and it has been amazing.  This book has done more to explain Asperger Syndrome to my son and the adults in his life than I have been able to in two years of boring them silly with studies and "doctor-said" chats.  My son's school and after school program have both ordered a copy of this beautiful and simple book to use a reference for people new to the diagnosis.
The thing I love most about this book is that my son sees himself described in it.  He told me "it speaks to me."

Re: All Cats Have Asperger Syndrome

I bought this book at last year's ASA Conference in Scottsdale and still love looking at the pictures. It's a fun way to introduce Asperger Syndrome. A student with whom I have been working on his senior project was browsing through it and was amazed to notice he agreed with the majority of the book and had never really thought about it. Then he mentioned that many times he feels more in tune with nature and animals than general society. He felt welcome. He also explained a connection with nature.

This type of thinking and connection is addressed in AUTISM IN THE GOD CONNECTION by Stillman which I also found very insightful.

Re: All Cats Have Asperger Syndrome

This book is amazing and indeed so true.  We have Cats and they mirror so many moods or our sons.  Hyperness.. routine... fussy eaters to name but a few.  Great book for family members to read.  really helpful smile
