Glass Castle
If you want to read a different book, that isn't about autism, but IS about an unreal child-hood, Glass Castle is a great book to read. The parents had different issues and the book takes an unvarnished look at her life. Told without the hint of "feel sorry for me" it is an inspiring true story.
