Good Book: Engaging Autism

I forget who wrote it.
But, I thought it had a great approach & info that I could integrate into my parenting routine.  It was a decent book I recommend.

Re: Good Book: Engaging Autism

Thanks for the reccomendation. There are so many out there - you never which are worth giving your precious time to read. I was enthralled by "Changing the Course of Autism" by Jepson. But had to put it down for a little while. It goes over all the biological (possible) causes of autism (Jepson is an MD). Very medical - and it was keeping me from sleeping imaging all these disturbances in my child's body. BUT gives wonderful insight about what we are dealing with. I would recomend but don't read before bed....

I like Jepson's book too--especially as one to share with those other professionals in your life (like your pediatrician) who need to "see the science" behind biomedical approaches.

Re: Good Book: Engaging Autism

I know it is hard to actually find the time to read books.   Lately, I have been more sucessful in downloading books (audio) then listening to them on my ipod.  That way I can listen to them a lot easier than reading.
