Hydroxy B12 injections

08-15-08
Seoc is taking the methyl B12 w/ folinic acid injections but he is still showing low levels of B12 and folinic acid as well as all the B vitamins. It seems he has some issues metabolizing the B's. So the doctor is changing him to Hydroxy B12 w/ folinic acid injections because it is a higher dose of B12. Has anyone else used this?

It does get expensive but we just do one step at a time. I have had some luck getting my ppo to reimburse a little. But I am soooo glad I pursued it and have lab tests to tell me what he needs. The B12 costs me about $120 for a two month supply and my insurance pay me back $70. I don't think you are ever to old. Good luck.

Wow it must have made a huge difference in him! I am so glad for you guys! It cost alot of money to do all these things I was just curious cause the closest dan doctor to us is about 21/2 to 3 hours away. I am going to have to take Garrett out there and check it out! Garrett is 8 I wonder if they can make a difference for him?

Forgot

My eldest son spent the summer in Florida with his Father when he came home he was really surprised. He said "Mom his is taking and he actually answered me when I said his name and he wanted to hang out with me in my room and was paying attention to what we were doing." We are doing other things as well that I am sure is contributing to the B12 but I believe it has helped the most.

B12

Oh yes!! We started the Methyl B-12 in March. At first he was a little hyper, then he started exploring his toys and playing with them appropriately, he had less insecurity, more pretend play, just generally more aware of his surroundings, as I say he could finally see the forrest for the trees. He is stimming less and overall acting more typical, he went from single words to three words phrases and a lot more communicating needs. He answered his first questions. He is doing some self help skills now like brushing teeth and washing hands and face. I am having a hard time keeping up with his progress. I can't say enough good things about the DAN! approach. Most of his therapist are blown away by his progess. My son is three almost four but developmentally two.

Methyl B-12 Injections

Hi I was just wondering if your child has started the injections yet and if you have noticed any difference. How old is your child and does your child have his speech? My child hasn't gotten enough speech to speak in a conversation yet and I heard maybe from you that this may be something to look into. What changes have you seen in this capacity if any? I am looking into going to a dan doctor but the closest one to us is about 2q/2 to three hours away. Have they helped your child significantly? Thank you in advance for you help.
