Supplements

08-31-08
We have added a lot of new supps recommended by great plains lab from his recent OAT test. I made a list to keep track of what and when I am giving it and holy cow it is a lot. Having great luck giving them so far, I have been putting them in his tubby custard (yogurt). Here is our new list

Hydroxy B12 w/ folinic acid injections every 3-4 days.

Organic fiber 1 tbsp daily

Epsom salt bath 2 cups in bath daily.

Aloe juice 2 tbsp daily.

Probiotic 1/2 tsp 2xday.

lithium one 5mg cap daily.

Multi-vit 1/2 scoop daily (having issues with this one, looking for a better alternative. Any suggestions?)

Mineral toddy 2xday.

Natural cellular defense 5 drops 2xday. (natural detox)

Agarigold 3 drops once a day (antiviral/immune booster).

L-carnitine 1-2 caps daily.

L-theanine 1 cap every other day alternate with GABA.

GABA 1/2-1 cap per day alternate with L-theanine.

Taurine 1/2 cap given with GABA.

Buffered Vit. C 1,000mg 1/2 tsp daily.

Vit B-6 1/2 cap daily.

Vit. B-2 1/4-1/2 cap daily.

Co Q10 20 drops per day with fat.

I also want to start oil of oregano and or olive leaf extract but not sure how much to give and should I use daily or on and off.

I also want to start Glutathione but have not found it yet. As well as Transfere factor. Anybody using these??

Vitamin Supplement

We used to give my son, Super Nu Thera, but it has quite a strong taste and he began to reject it. We now give him Spectrum Complete (the hypoallergenic one, which has no flavor). It dissolves really well and has no real taste to it...so far it has worked really well for our son. You can get trial sizes from Kirkman to see if your child will take it or not...

More supps

After reviewing our recent test our DAN! rec'd EndoPlusJr which is a spray that taste like rootbeer (which he loves) and Kavinase (these replace the L-theanine, GABA and Taurine) to calm his nervous system. He also rec'd Calm PRT JR this is some nasty powdered cherry mix. It is horrible and Expensive. I am so disappointed I wasted money on that and a fiber called BiosLife2 which is suppose to taste like tang but it also awful and expensive. I am going to take it with us to our next apt. and ask our DAN! to give it a try before he rec'd it to anyone else. I can't believe they expect a child w/ ASD to drink that nasty crap. I did find a L-Glutathione and started that.

We also started the casein free diet, we are taking it one step at a time but in just one week he is already having a daily BM which went from chronic constipation to now loose stools that look yeastie. I know lovely right, lol. I am just glad he is going!!

We are probably going to start the LDN (lowdosenaltrexone) this month and see if it helps. I got my Mom started on it (she has MS) and she feels a bit stronger.

He is now taking Lil Critters gummies for his mult-vit he would not drink the lemon stuff from the DAN! (yet another drink mix I paid for, arh) and he will not drink the Vit. C mix. Anyone have any good Vit. C rec'd that isn't a drink???? Also I feel like maybe I should add a Vit. D and Cal/Mag since now he is on the CF diet, what do you think and what are you using???

I mix his vits. in a little applesauce and he eats it with protest and bribery but will not drink any vits mixes.

Thanks, Sonya

Thanks I am happy to know it is normal vit. pee, lol. It smells too, eww. We are currently using Klaire labs vitaspectrum powder but it is lemon flavored and it doesn't dissolve well so he isn't drinking it. I have looked at Kirmanlabs super nu thera and I am not happy they have artificial sweetner in it. the brainchild is natural but Expensive, holy cow. I am in search of a less expensive multi with no artificial sweetner.

We use Bodybio minerals. I have to mix a mineral toddy twice a day and put in one of his drinks. He drinks it no problem.

I didn't add all these at one time, I waited a few days between adding a new one. The last eight are the new ones. We have been using the Aloe juice for about ten months. I think it helps some.

I thought you could get a glutathione supplement. Is it not as good as the perscription? I will ask our DAN! about it.

Thanks!!

Bright Pee

09-02-08
Yes, vitamins tend to make the pee bright yellow - sometimes orange if not a lot of water has been drunk (in our house). We even have a song about turning the water in the potty bright yellow.
I am using a Klaire multivitamin that he has been tolerating well - I can get the name if you are interested. I can't believe he is eating this in his yogurt wow! I like to start slow and add one thing at a time - only b/c if he starts having problems i can go back to the last thing we added and remove it - then see if he gets better. We have been having a heck of a time finding a multi Mineral he can tolerate. We are trying a new one right now and we'll see how that goes (brainchild). I was going to start using the Aloe juice - how long have you been using that?
