What is the source of your frustation with the school? For me it was my boys behaviour getting in the way of their performance. We do public school online at home now and they are really succceding in this enviroment. There is no cost but your internet service for this program and they even give you a check to cover some of that cost. I will do some checking around for you if you like to see if this program is available in your area if you leave me your state I can find out. Oh and they honor all IEP and services your child currently receives and find outside providers for them!

Tough choice

Hi, Monsermom! Private schools can be so expensive! If you decide to home school, just make sure you'll have enough resources for any occupational therapy or speech pathology or whatever your son needs, whether that means you get books from the library on them or have therapists for your son. There's at least one mom on FoggyRock who doesn't have enough resources for supporting her son's homeschooling, and she's having a really hard time. Some parents love homeschooling, so you and your son might love it, too.
School?

I hope I am posting correctly. But school is a continuing source of emotional suffering for my 10 year old PDD-NOS. I am considering homeschooling or a school for children with learning disabilities (sounds perfect for my son Arjun but is $21,500/year). Any suggestions?

They all went back 8/25. My oldest & HFA son started middle school. So far so good. He's really enjoying it. Had a little bit of stress last night over some math homework, but mom got him through it. :-)

We start school today. We use A Virtual Academy for the boys. They love being able to stay at home, work on the computer and still have real teachers that they interact with daily.
