Nintendo DS

01-31-08
We bought EJ a DS for Christmas. It is his absolute favorite gift. He is still very into it. EJ gets easily obsessed with video games so we do have to monitor and limit his usage. However, it has been a great behavior tool. Not only that but the DS uses a stylus similar to that of a PDA. EJ has delays with his motor skills and this has helped him tremendously. I would love to find some more educational games for him. Also he has to read for the games (which he cant yet) but i feel like this is encouraging him to try harder when learning how to read. My husband is talking about a game which would have writing training and reading training as well as other things that could help children on the spectrum. He is not a programmer so he would not know how to write it. If anyone knows someone who would be interested in collaborating on this let me know! I think this would be a wonderful tool for kids on the spectrum.
