My son who is 6 absolutely loves Google Maps, If I left him to his own devices he would play it an entire day until he fell asleep. He has navigated thru it with ease and has mastered all it's functions to where he has been able to do things I never knew Google Maps could do. My wife and I have both encouraged him to look up places he wants to visit as well as look up planets in outer space as that has been one of his new interests.

I think that this program is a little old for our guy him only being 5. He hasn't really shown an interesting it. However, to refer to Steve's comment on google earth/sketchup. They are not the same program at all, however you can model things in sketchup and then add them to google earth. So say you wanted to do a model of you house you can then add that to google earth. Pretty cool!

We downloaded it a year ago and it never took off. The google earth program has been more of a hit.
