Gunstock Inn & Fitness Centers 1st Annual Autism Weekend

Date: Friday May 30, 2008 & Saturday May 31, 2008
May 30th upon check in at 3pm. Meet and greet at 6pm.
May 31st: Buffet breakfast 8-10am (cost will be posted upon arrival), 9-11am IEP clinic provided by Parent Information Center, Concord, NH., ( please bring your current IEP or 504 plan), Gilford police department to distribute KidCare ID Kit, Deb Crump, Developmental Therapist from Vassalboro, ME., and member of Foggyrock, will be demonstrating how to make visual supports, social stories and PECS. Steve Johnson from Harpswell, ME., and member of Foggyrock will be demonstrating a new communication web application called Iabida. Buffet dinner to be served from 5-7pm ( cost to be posted at Inn). Local musician from 6-9pm.
Occupational therapy room: An OT room will be set up with a therapist on site for advice and to show different techniques. This OT room can also be used as a playroom for the kids.
Activities: Outdoor activity stations to be set up along with a pony and donkey to feed, pet and brush. Bring your bathing suits for the indoor heated pool, walking trails at Gunstock Inn & Gunstock Mountain.
A portion of the cost of meals will be donated to a local Autism organization. This Autism weekend is a time for parents, families, caregivers and the community to come together in a setting where no one is there to judge us, allow the children to play and learn with us.
There is no cost to come and look around, join in activities, see the pony, donkey or listen in on the speakers. The only cost is if you wish to join us for breakfast, dinner or stay at the Inn for a night or two. So please come and have fun!!!!!! Hope to see you there. If you are interested in staying at the Inn please contact them as the rooms are beginning to be booked.
