DAN DOCTERS

04-30-08
Hi all I thought how should I or if I should post about this . Well I as you can see I am. I live in Ca. My good friend on here too is working hard to have another DAN conference in our area. Well she received a e-mail from part of the team stating that one of the DAN drs. dose not want to have the conference in our area because he stated that the families in our area don't have enough money to help thir kids. This statement saden me and made me sick. Do you all see this with your DAN drs.??? Just wanted to know. Would it be tackey of me to state his name?? If you want to know I will post it later depending on your replys. On a postive note another Dr. from the group is still coming YEA!!!

I find that disgusting. I wouldn't want him for a doc. I dropped one DAN because I felt like a dollar sign. I pay the same amount now but my current DAN is interested in my son and the money part is not foremost in his mind. I think it is ok to post his name. Parents need to look out for each other. I'm a pharmacist and there are a lot of dumb, greedy, unethical......I could go on and on....doctors out there. I would also like to know which DAN is still coming.

Doctors

I know they are in the business of making money, most people are. But they should have chosen to be Doctors for their passion to help people not motivated by money.

How does this guy know the people in that area can't afford it?? My DAN is expensive but he does work with you and understands Most people cannot afford to do all the tests at once or at all. He explains which tests insurance may cover, which ones they won't, which ones he thinks are most important so you can chose which ones you can afford and which ones have to wait. I will eventually get them all done when I can afford it.

Personally I would not want the guy you are talking about as my Doctor as he seems very uncompassionate. It is upsetting and I think turns some people away from trying DAN! Because they don't take ins. and want all they payments for tests etc up front making it impossible for most people to afford. I am sooo glad our DAN! isn't like that. It sounds like the other Doctor that is coming to your area is the kind I would like to have. He is going to share his knowledge and give families in the area a chance to decide for themselves if they can afford it. Good for him, I hope he gets a great deal of new patients from the conference and the other doctor can say "I wish I had gone to that conference".

DAN docs are people and motivated by different things. And maybe money isn't the motivator for this doc but he/she doesn't want to deal with late paid bills, discounted rates, watching parents not follow through with therapies (due to cost), and all those other $$ headaches. It is how they make a living too. But again - it does make me sick to think that only kids whose parents have $ can feel better. The better idea is to build a business model that can handle lower paying clients. Our DAN makes sure he has a credit card on file before ordering special supps or tests or conference calls. I'm a small business owner so I can understand that. But I also demand a lot from him too. At least that doc was being honest and you know what you are dealing with...Ugh -
