What extra safety measures have you taken in your home to keep your child safe?

Saftey measures

When Robbie was smaller, we had the fridge lock, and of course we still have the outlet covers, cabinet locks, and we keep ALL chemicals and meds in a high locked cabinet. He use to be a runner, so we put a small cowbell on the door so that my husband could hear it . We tried an alarm, but that just scared the yoo-hoo out of Robbie and me! The bell seems to work well for us, and Rob knows now that Daddy can hear it if he tries to go outside by himself.

door chain

We used to put a chain on our outside doors, really high up, so Daniel couldn't escape. At this point, he doesn't do that any more. (HOORAY!) Now, I have bought some extra fire extinguishers, so I can train my kids how to use them by having them put out a fire in the barbecue. Should be messy!

Now, all I have to do is get them all trained in first aid, and the older ones trained in CPR... I think I can, I think I can...

Our Home

Our boys used to be runners so when we moved into this house we put in a lot of extra safety for them.

We have keylocks on our windows, We put an alarm system on all our doors (since we have a pool in the backyard this was a must), we have a 6ft privacy fence built all the way around our backyard and all gates are padlocked. We used to have a chain lock on the outside of the bathroom so they couldn't just go in and play in the toilet! Big Issue lol!!! Also we had the child restraint strap on our frig when they were younger.
