I just finished this book and it is great. It has a lot of recipes to make your own cleaning supplies and a great deal of resources and websites. Here is just a look

All-Purpose Cleaner
1/2 tsp washing soda or 2 1/2 tsp Borax
1/2 tsp liquid Castile soap
2 cups hot water
16 ounce spray bottle

Green cabinet
All-purpose nontoxic cleaner
Baking soda
Borax
Castile soap
Dishwashing det (non-toxic)
Distilled white vinegar
Essential oils
Hydrogen peroxide
Liquid dishwashing soap (natural)
Vegetable oil-based mopping liquid
all total around $25. compared to a toxic cabinet at around $100.

Baking soda uses:
air freshner, carpet deodorizer, drain declogger, fabric softner, flea repellant, grease cleaner, ped bed deoderizer, and soft scrub (add salt and you have an abrasive cleaner).

Hydrogen Peroxide can be used as a bleach alternative, blood cleaner, disinfectant, for mold and mildew and used in hair color treatments.

Lemons can be used as air freshener, flea repellant, furniture polish, microwave deodorizer, and rust cleaner.

Olive oil can be used as a furniture polish, lice treatment, moisturizer and a source of mega 3 fatty acids.

Vinegar can be used as :
air freshner, bleach alternative, deodorizer, disinfectant, drain declogger, floor cleaner, lice treatment, mold and mildew, produce wash, toy cleaner and weed killer.

Here is a recipe for play dough
1 cup water
1 cup of cornstarch
a few drops of food coloring

Add food coloring and water and mix with cornstarch in bowl. Store in covered container; revive periodically from drying out with a bit of water

Super safe finger paint:
1/3 cup soap flakes melted with 1/2 cup of boiling water
1 cup cornstarch
1/3 cup cold water
a few drops of juice dyes

Make your own soap flakes by grating a bar of homemade hand soap (available at you healthfood store) until you have a 1/3 cup of it. Combine with cornstarch, cold water and melted soap in a bowl. Stir to blend. Let the mixture set until it is thick. Divide into separate bowls and stir in juice dyes.

Anyway, I highly recommend this book.
