Hello My name is Patti.I I am a mother of 2 beautiful girls.Their ages are 12 in Dec.and 10 years old.After a long battle my 10 year old daughter was diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder,to go along with her severe ADHD,and Learning disabilities.I don't know really anything really about Autism so I am looking forward to meeting new people that understand what I am going through and chatting with others. I would like to post some info as I get time. Some of thing things I have run across to help special needs kids in Canada. A lot will be for Ontario but I have for other provinces as well. Ontario like many provinces is always trying to not give therapy. I am trying to push for more in school therapy like they do in the US and not just one type of therapy. My daughter grew up with different types not just aba/ibi and I know she better off for it.
She was orginally rejected for school when we immigrated to Canada. That put the fight in me. So, i took the time to go online and read the laws for edcuation and special needs and the health act. Our kids are far better than the govts think they can be.
