My Honey went away for the weekend. It's just me Michelle and 5 dogs. He got another beagle from a friend of a friend. I have been bored to tears. Usually Michelle gives me a hard time when he is away, but she has been on her best behaviour. At least when she is having a meltdown I have something to occupy me. What do you do when you get an unexpected good kid?

As much as I don't like long car trips with the kids, I go absolutely buggy if the kids aren't in the car with me. It's so boring not to have little people to pass things to, scold, calm down, laugh with, and so on. I went to an autism conference in Wichita alone last fall, and felt like I was going insane, just from the lack of someone to talk to. And that was only 2 days!
When they're all in the house, though, and they're quiet, I'm pretty happy, as long as I know where they are and what they're up to-- I guess that means I walk around checking on them too!

I hate silence...as an only child, I never liked being alone...when everyone in my home are all quite I am usually busy, because they are sick...but when they are quite, just because, it is scary...I feel like I am not in my own home...I walk around checking on them...I even find myself sitting where they are and just read or make more communication cards for Julian...Silence is NOT golden for me.

Our Robbie has been exceptionally good the last few days, usually, this is a tip-off for a meltdown. So far, we haven't had the meltdown, but I'm ready for it! I understand what you mean when you said that at least when your little one has a meltdown, it distracts you from missing your loved ones. I hope the good behavior continues and you are together again soon!!

It's funny what you get used to... I guess if my kids were unexpectedly good, I'd dance around the living room, embarassing them to death!
