crying

I have only been hit once, and by my grandma...she got me with a tiny twig...she cried more than I did...and never hit me again...but my mom was more than ready to pinch the underside of my arm and twist the skin, boy does that hurt.

The lilac switch

We always had to get a lilac switch from the bush next to our porch. If you didn't get one that was right, you got sent out with instructions for another one. Boy, did those hurt?

Going to the woodshed

My dad was Southern, so I understand completely about the pain of a switch on your legs! I remember getting the same thing once as a kid. It certainly made me think twice the next time I was about to get into trouble!
