This three-part presentation is designed for anyone who works or lives with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The presentation is divided into three sections:

Part 1: Understanding the inflexible-explosive individual

Part 2: Understanding the stages of crisis leading to meltdowns

Part 3: Reacting to agitation, escalation and outburst

In each of these sections, Rebecca Klaw emphasizes the need to understand the characteristics of the inflexible, explosive and autistic individual, and how these characteristics are determined and driven by neurological difference. Once you fully recognize this, Rebecca contends that it is possible to come up with a range of effective strategies, designed specifically for individuals with the characteristics associated with ASD, for those difficult and sometimes explosive moments.
