While most college graduates are looking for their first job or applying to graduate schools, several recent graduates are taking a slightly different path. Union College Senior Dan Tatar started a foundation to raise money and awareness for Autism.
With the help of a team of over 150 students from across the country, Rolling for Autism
has grown from an idea into a reality. The goal of this foundation is to raise $500,000 in scholarship money for children with Autism, and to develop public awareness for this important cause.
They also plan to target a new demographic for their fundraising efforts, the college student. By increasing autism awareness to college students across the country; the teachers, scientists,
doctors, politicians, and parents of tomorrow will be better educated regarding Autism Spectrum Disorders and the challenges they present to a large and growing population within our society.
The group's 2,000 mile rollerblading trip from Florida to Maine to raise awareness and funds is already underway. Please support this wonderful cause by sending a small donation, offering a meal, setting up a meet and greet, or by simply cheering the group on as they skate
through your town.
