Hi,
My name is Diana, I have one daughter (27) and four boys (22) (14) (13) and (9). I have 1 grand-daughter in heaven and four grand-sons (7) (4) (1) and (2). I have been happily married for 14 years and 12 of them have been with the challenges of autism, and year 15 is this May. I used to hold support meetings for parents here in Madera, I did this for 4 1/2 years...But do to the lack of parental interest in recovering these children, In July of 2007, I stopped the support group...I still provide resources when the local agencies ask for them. Now we try and do as many family outings as possible. I homeschool Julian, and I am his teacher, doctor, nurse, one on one aide, and therapist for everything.
As long as God gives be breath, I will continue to keep looking under every stone, and move as many mountains as possible to help Julian recover, and be all GOD intended him to be. May GOD's glory shine through Julian for the world to see. amen y amen.

BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY...THIS MAMA/NANA IS WORST THAN ALL THE KIDS... 47 and refuse to act my age. With all that goes on over here, I need to keep my wits about me...laughter is said to be the best medicine...and I truely believe the person that said this knew what they were talking about...I have had races down to grocery isles with the boys...I have climbed fences...ran down hills, rolled down hills, waded through mud, oh and I spit wads farther than anyone here... we love to puddle splash...we have water bolloon fights, we wrestle...I can't pin down our 22 yr old anymore, but I still have pleanty other kids to harass...my children know how to misbehave beacuse I can PROUDLY say I TAUGHT THEM ALL THEY KNOW AND SOME.

me I'm 34 regardless if the question is rhetorical or not. I can't wait until I get a break from school for two weeks. My grandfather is 90 and he always says your only as old as you feel but in my case then i feel 100+ years old then. Enjoy your fun.

Until recently, I felt like I was in my 20's because I was keeping up with Robbie. Now I feel very very ancient, because I am having issues with my husband and it just drains me!!

They do make things fun! I took my two girls to the grocery store last week for the first time. (One NT and my ASD daughter) You would have thought we were in Disney! They had so much fun. I was going along with them "WOWing" at everything. I am sure I looked like I had lost my mind--LOOK!!!! Bananas!! WOW!! juice!!! But it was so much fun! They kind of give us permission to have fun and enjoy things in a way that most people don't get to. I mean, I would never do that if I was alone!!! (I would probably be escorted from the store!)

Ditto to Crofty - I love your fun outlook and know that it helps keep you sane, 'cause that's the kind of thing that helps keep me going too.

Keep that sense of play! You already know it keeps you sane. Also, I'll bet your kids know how to have fun, too! They learned it from you!

Good for you, why should you act your age. Life can be too serious most of the time. Visions of you running and rolling around made me chuckle on a day that's been a little sad for me. I love your positive and fun outlook on life. Well done.
