4muskateers's Bio

Hi,

My name is Diana,  I have one daughter (27) and four boys (22) (14) (13) and (9).  I have 1 grand-daughter in heaven and four grand-sons (7) (4) (1) and (2).  I have been happily married for 14 years and 12 of them have been with the challenges of autism, and year 15 is this May.  I used to hold support meetings for parents here in Madera, I did this for 4 1/2 years...But do to the lack of parental interest in recovering these children, In July of 2007, I stopped the support group...I still provide resources when the local agencies ask for them.  Now we try and do as many family outings as possible. I homeschool Julian, and I am his teacher, doctor, nurse, one on one aide, and  therapist for everything.

As long as God gives be breath, I will continue to keep looking under every stone, and move as many mountains as possible to help Julian recover, and be all GOD intended him to be.   May GOD's glory shine through Julian for the world to see.   amen y amen.

He did it alone.

Oh my, my son showed me today, that he can go into the men's restroom and change come out with all his belongings give them to me and guide me to the car.
after swimming I always help Julian get dried off...he doesn't like wet clothes...I help him change too. Well today he grabbed his dry clothes and took off walking away from me...I said" wait for me"...he turned around looked right at me and shook his head no...I just stood there, where I was, I didn't know what to do next...finally I said o.k. but wait, went over to him told him to go and change and be sure to bring back his wet clothes...I was standing away from the restroom and all of a sudden he hands me all his wet clothes bundled up in his towel...I made the comment out loud...you did it, you really did it and all by yourself...on of the coaches comes over and says "He is growing and changing so much mom, I he did it all by himself, way to go Julian". He gives her a high five and I wanted to cry...First whiskers and now walking away from me to take care of himself, boy what is next...I know in my heart I want a full recovery...but my extrodinary child needs me less and less...I am happy and sad at the same time. anyone have any ideas on what I can do for me.

The more he can do on his own just shows you how much you have already done for him. Good job! Kristin
