Hi,
My name is Diana, I have one daughter (27) and four boys (22) (14) (13) and (9). I have 1 grand-daughter in heaven and four grand-sons (7) (4) (1) and (2). I have been happily married for 14 years and 12 of them have been with the challenges of autism, and year 15 is this May. I used to hold support meetings for parents here in Madera, I did this for 4 1/2 years...But do to the lack of parental interest in recovering these children, In July of 2007, I stopped the support group...I still provide resources when the local agencies ask for them. Now we try and do as many family outings as possible. I homeschool Julian, and I am his teacher, doctor, nurse, one on one aide, and therapist for everything.
As long as God gives be breath, I will continue to keep looking under every stone, and move as many mountains as possible to help Julian recover, and be all GOD intended him to be. May GOD's glory shine through Julian for the world to see. amen y amen.

Hi, everyone.
I have waited this long to post on this topic only because I wanted to get resent pictures of Julian at the Special Olympic swimming practices...so here it is and now we are off to the qualifing competions and then, just maybe on our way to Berkley for the summer games...It is such a wonderful feeling to be in a place where there are no differences between how people see our children...we cheer for each other, and we don't even know each other...just like we do here...As long as we keep Julian in the deep end he will start and finish a race...if he can touch the bottom...he will stop and play...If I can find a picture we have where we had him focus on a family size bag of Lays BBQ chips, I'll post it...it was his first year at this competion and we needed something to entice him...Boy, Oh, Boy did they work...he got his first GOLD metal that year. If you don't have a Special Olympics in your area, ask for one to be started. Enjoy your children, and become child like and you'll have so much fun...

Good job, Julian!! Swimming is such a good thing for the kids, I think that it hits so many sensory issues, but it's fun and they adjust to it so well! And it's a great pic!!
