4muskateers's Bio

Hi,

My name is Diana,  I have one daughter (27) and four boys (22) (14) (13) and (9).  I have 1 grand-daughter in heaven and four grand-sons (7) (4) (1) and (2).  I have been happily married for 14 years and 12 of them have been with the challenges of autism, and year 15 is this May.  I used to hold support meetings for parents here in Madera, I did this for 4 1/2 years...But do to the lack of parental interest in recovering these children, In July of 2007, I stopped the support group...I still provide resources when the local agencies ask for them.  Now we try and do as many family outings as possible. I homeschool Julian, and I am his teacher, doctor, nurse, one on one aide, and  therapist for everything.

As long as God gives be breath, I will continue to keep looking under every stone, and move as many mountains as possible to help Julian recover, and be all GOD intended him to be.   May GOD's glory shine through Julian for the world to see.   amen y amen.

Tonight Julian surprised me once again...he had not seen a Barney movie for about a year...well tonight he kept wanting to go into the storage room, so I finally sent dad in with him, Dad yells, hey he wants the box way up high that say Barney...no he doesn't was my response, I don't know what he wants...so then later Julian takes victor into the storage room and victor says what dad said...now pam is carrying in a chair from outside and Julian stops her, holds on to the chair, so now victor takes the chair and Julian follows him into the storage room again...I send them both out and Julian sits on the couch...but what he did next took me by surprise...he went to his icons and strongly placed the icon had a stern looking face and the words mean written on it...I told everyone, hey Julian just told me I was mean, I guess because I won't let him have the barney movies...so victor took him back into the storage room let him stand on the chair with him and sure enough Julian got down the box of barney movies...but it is late, so I guess tomorrow we will be watching barney...

Yeah Thats wonderful it really gives me hope for my son. I mean .. just to hear of progress from others you know... NOT that I like Barney much but why exactly didnt you wnat him to have them? LOL I mean I think I would hide them too... but we are really hiding the Blues Clues in my house theres only so many times you can sing the blues clues song and sit in the thinking chair and not feel like your in the twilights zone!

Wow! I'm sorry Julian said you were mean, but a big thumbs up for expressing his anger! My Robbie does kind of the same thing, but he's VERY verbal about it! I pray that you don't start singing the Barney theme song any time soon. j/k Have a good Sunday. Hugs~ Stephanie

It's kind of nice when small glimmers shine through. Nicely done Julian!

Oh, good for Julian! Not that you were really mean, but good for him to communicate his anger! He did it so well-- not hitting, not yelling, just point and glare!
