Hi,
My name is Diana, I have one daughter (27) and four boys (22) (14) (13) and (9). I have 1 grand-daughter in heaven and four grand-sons (7) (4) (1) and (2). I have been happily married for 14 years and 12 of them have been with the challenges of autism, and year 15 is this May. I used to hold support meetings for parents here in Madera, I did this for 4 1/2 years...But do to the lack of parental interest in recovering these children, In July of 2007, I stopped the support group...I still provide resources when the local agencies ask for them. Now we try and do as many family outings as possible. I homeschool Julian, and I am his teacher, doctor, nurse, one on one aide, and therapist for everything.
As long as God gives be breath, I will continue to keep looking under every stone, and move as many mountains as possible to help Julian recover, and be all GOD intended him to be. May GOD's glory shine through Julian for the world to see. amen y amen.

Well as you all know Julian has been working with CARD...and he has amazed me...he will do exactly as he is told, but when we are alone, he won't for me...but it is great, because I can see all our hard work paying off...or should I say Julian showing off...so I know that what I have taught him is generalizing to working with other people...He has begun to use his PEC's books again and very accurately and fluently...we are now moving to making his icons to one inch by one inch, to fit more in the binders...as of now we have 4 binders, with over 500 icons, and with CARDS help Julian will be able to use these icons freely with anyone...I pray that by summer we will be using a computer system with the icons he has...I know, I know,,,but I can pray...Pray for it, write it, say it, and it will be heard and be done...Amen y Amen Jesus.

I guess Julian is growing up and being a teenager for you, Mom! I'm sure CARD will help him. I'm glad he's making such progress.

You really are doing an excellent job teaching him. I'd love to see a photo of your pecs book. Do you know how to put a photo of it online? I'm in the middle of making one for my son to understand more words. Just shows Julian's independent nature showing off for others the way he is and shows the giant of a teacher he has. Great photo, hye his teeth sure are pretty!!! Random comment, uh?
