I was at work and my boss had a radio and told me "A Plane just hit the World Trade Center." Then he said, "Another hit the World Trade Center .. let's get out of here!" I work at the ports and I was sure we were next. I cannot describe the panic. We all ran to our cars to get home. I stayed up all day watching the horrible scenes, over and over. Before I made it home I stopped at a Army N Navy store and bought all the flags they had. It was almost instinctive, I can't describe it. When I was near my home a young boy was waving the flag on a corner, it was twice the size of him. It just made me cry. I still cry and mourn the loss. That Halloween I dressed Raymond as a NYPD officer (real patches), Evan was a FDNY firefighter (real patches), and I had a lady make Sheridan an American Flag costume. I sent $, I sent comforting emails, anything I could do to help. I bought a hard hat from a New Jersey Fireman and wore it proudly to work (American flag with Firefighter stickers), it fell into the ocean and I nearly lost it but the boss and crew fished it out for me and I put it in my curio cabinet where it remains today. On that fateful morning was the first time I heard the name "Bin Laden" .. my friend said, "I bet it was that crazy Bin Laden that did this!"

I've been thinking the same thing all day, Thank god I am free. I've also been sad all day, just thinking about the heros of 911. I would like to thank them all and send my prayers and love to their families.

I just watched the video. The blond woman holding up a photo of a dark haired woman is the children's librarian at our local library. The woman in the photo is her sister, a flight attendant who died that horrible day.
