I am the proud, single (and occasionally insane) mother of four incredible children who have taught me more than I ever thought possible about patience, passion and perspective. Ranging in age from 16 to 4, my children look at this world through the lenses of dyslexia, Asperger's, ADHD/anxiety disorder, and PDD-NOS. An easy ride, it isn't, but life certainly isn't boring!
In addition to my 2-legged children, I have a menagerie that includes 4 horses, 2 dogs, 5 cats, and the occasional reptile or amphibian creature.
In my personal life (what's that?!) I am a musician, midwife, and stained glass artist. I have a variety of interests that totally depends on my time constraints and mood.

Watching my 4-year old son have another positive "First" after lots of hard work via using pictures/social story... attending a classmate's birthday party for the first time and greeting his friend with "Hi C, Happy Birthday - this is for you!" only to be followed by 3 hours of awesome behavior, laughter, no meltdowns and a hug and "thank you" to the host when we left! (And yes, a few busted buttons on the part of this mom!)

Thanks all! Two steps forward and one step back...and occasionally 2-3 steps back, but we'll get there. Being redheads mean we're too stubborn not to! :)
