Hi everyone I am Tracy a married 36 yr old mum of two boys with Asd. My 6 year old Zak has aspergers and my 4 year old Kai, has more complex autism with alot of additional sensory needs. It can be quite challenging having two boys at opposite ends of the spectrum but our family are very supportive and especially my husband Lee, who is my rock in times of need.

At the moment I can't wait for Monday to come around. Zak has been his usual talkative in your face self, Kai has had moments of being so loving and adorable along with mood swings, geting into everything and throwing things. He also developed a likeing for a piece of Zaks chalk and ate it all and soap!!!!!!!!!!! I am exhausted from running around constantly after him and I think the mental stress is very tireing too.
Help, hope I don't burn out before school starts on Monday!

My kiddos have been out of school since Friday....and well I understand the into everything and chasing...it has definately been an exhausting week around here too. Of course the Weather hasnt cooperated with us either....otherwise I dont think it would be as bad. We set the pool up last weekend...and it has done nothing but be cold and rainy all week. I am hoping for nicer weather soon...I think that would help our situation to improve here. Hang in there! Lisa

I remember those days! Our school year ends next Friday. This is actually our first summer without intensive, in-home therapy since Ian was diagnosed. It has been almost 4 years since I've been without daily therapists to keep Ian occupied... I'm nervous! In a way, it has been a disservice to ME because I have had so much help. Now I'm suddenly on my own and left to my own devices to entertain my active little boy! I have 2 older kids to think about, also. At least they are at the age where they look to their friends and not so much to mom for all of their social needs (they are 11 and 10). Let's hope the therapy paid off! I am trying to arrange play dates with a few other kids on the spectrum in the area and some kids from school/neighborhood. Still, I feel the need to monitor the play to guide Ian in socializing. It will certainly be work. I just don't want him to be lonely.
