HELLO
I am new to this but I am in need of support, so here I am. I am a 40 year old mother of Emily, age 5, with Autism. She is in Special Education preschool, and is working with a speech therapist. I am trying to get an Extended School year approved by the local School Board so that she can attend school all summer. Last summer she lost what little speech she DID have, and at beginning of School she had less speech than she did in the summer. This year I would like to eliminate that if possible, but so far to no avail with the School Board.
I would like information or ideas on payments and / or Grants to help pay for things that are needed. We have state medicaid and we are limited to therapies due to the payment. My daughter also has the official diagnosis of Learning Disability and that has become a problem with services and The IEP because it doesnt have the word "Autism" in it. Please contact me if you have any ideas for us.
Thanks !!!
