I am the dad of my 4 y/o daughter Liv. She was dx in August of 07. Liv is my only child. If you stop by my page leave me a post below. God Speed to you all.
I am in my mid 30's recently divorced (unrelated to autism & pre-regression). Liv & I enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. This summer I hope to take her camping with me. BTW, I am the worst speller of all time please take a laugh at how I spell ;)

Today we had Liv's IEP.. I was scared. Liv did not go to bed until 1:30 last night & my anxiety did not let me sleep well anyway.
I have been so nervous about this IEP. The school system was pushing their school based program. Which might be great for some kids
but, I knew the program we found for Liv was so much better for her. We had so many blessings along the way. We where put in touch with a
wonderful advocate that helped us navigate this. We got with one of the best programs which typically had a waitlist of months & months that was a blessing in itself. And, today I thought the IEP was going south & the district would hold it's position on their program. Until the last 30 minutes & it all turned around. Long story short we got what we needed for Liv. Things finally happened & it all came together as if it where divine intervention. Even our advocate half way through the meeting passed a note to me saying that she was going to dig in as it was not going well. Thankfully, we where all quiet at the right time & it turned around. I really do not know what happened. And, I don't know what the heck happened off line, but something did. Whatever it was we are thankful. It was a long and tedious wait with multiple evals & BS along the way. Liv will get this facet of help that she needs & that is what I am thankful for. I wish you all the same blessings in whatever you feel is best for your kid. I thank all those who had a part in this outcome.

That is so good! It's great when you know your child is getting what they need. I have been really lucky that our district has a great program but I know that isn't the case in a lot of places. I am so happy your daughter is getting what she needs!

I love when suprises spring up on us...Now Liv will have a bright future, and you can put your mind at rest for a while...at least until the new program starts...then you won't wnat to sleep so you can sit back and take in all the advances she will be making.
