I am the dad of my 4 y/o daughter Liv. She was dx in August of 07. Liv is my only child. If you stop by my page leave me a post below. God Speed to you all.
I am in my mid 30's recently divorced (unrelated to autism & pre-regression). Liv & I enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. This summer I hope to take her camping with me. BTW, I am the worst speller of all time please take a laugh at how I spell ;)

Below is an excerpt from a CNN article discussing the Foot & Mouth outbreak in China. What bothers me is the paradox which logically makes no sense to me. The CDC declares that child's immune system is healthy enough to take the ever increasing vaccination regiment & schedule but, not healthy enough to fend off Hand, Foot & Mouth disease like an adults immune system. Thus, is it not easy for me to conclude that a child may have significant issues with fending off & building an immune system as the vaccinations are intended to do? Maybe I am ill informed but, common sense does not add up to me.
There is no treatment for severe EV-71 infections nor does a vaccine exist. Adults' well-developed immune systems usually can fend off the virus, but children are particularly vulnerable to it, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

I remember watching a debate on the topic & the health professional said, that children could in effect take a lot more vaccines than we currently give them.. And, implied it was infinite what they could take. And again, disease always seems to take it's biggest numbers from the very young & old.. Hence, the recommendation for flu vaccs for old & young.. Just does not add up to me. I need more convincing that weaker immune systems can handle more inoculations.

The CDC lacks any kind of common sense. And unfortunately our children pay the price for it. Kristin

The CDC is going to have to eat it's words. Do they think we are stupid? I agree with you 100%!!!

I thought the same thing when I saw it on TV. So I guess we are both in the same spot....
