I am the dad of my 4 y/o daughter Liv. She was dx in August of 07. Liv is my only child. If you stop by my page leave me a post below. God Speed to you all.
I am in my mid 30's recently divorced (unrelated to autism & pre-regression). Liv & I enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. This summer I hope to take her camping with me. BTW, I am the worst speller of all time please take a laugh at how I spell ;)

So, my kid loves to run in circles. My German Shepherd Mix is bred to chase things & herd. My dog would chase Liv around in circles, head her off at the counter clockwise pass, & K-9 block her for hours on end. One time I had a friend stop by who witnessed this phenomena in my household. She had a hard time digesting my circus & could only stare in amazement. Especially, when it was my turn to cut in & join the fun. Anyway, nowadays my dog just lays down and watches. She is getting fatter & enjoys the symbiotic/parasitic relationship she has with Liv as the cornucopia of food falls off the table during dinner.

I don't think she is getting too old. I think she just lost interest in chasing Liv

We have a pug and a jack russel male. The pug is female and just had puppies, she gets preoccupied. But my daughter Michelle loves to watch the male, his name is Skip. He is 6 yrs old but when he wants to play with a ball or balloon, he acts like apup. I have always had pets in my life and I loved every one of them. Enjoy the times that you get to just watch them, talk about priceless. Have a good day.

We have 3 dogs, 1 is Michael's service dog. The oldest is 11 now (a lab) she has slowed down until anyone has food then she is like a puppy again! The others are 4 and are litter-mates. I take them all to a holistic vet and they take the same supplements as Michael. The vet also does titers before giving them any boosters. Acupuncture helps a lot with joint issues.

We have a lab/chow EBONY and she has gotten fatter, and since she is heavier she has slown down...I see her limping sometimes and feel bad...one day I took her to the vet...she told me to go to pak-n-save and by her some capsules that contained glutamine and knox gelatin...they are for the seniors who have artheritis...the vet said they were just the same as the ones for pets...but way cheaper...boy did they work...she now chases the german sheppard/lab that my daughter- in- law brought home...she even plays with the nine puppies Mimy had...all are in new homes now...we only have one left. It is sad to see her just laying around, but I guess that's life...I pray when I get old my family will care for me as they do for her.

I love dogs, they are so smart. Bless yours, sounds like somedog is getting tired and old. Mine is lazy these days too and just watches life pass him by. Dogs are great with as kids..at least I think they are.

I guess your dog is getting older. At least she has you and Liv to keep life interesting. It's sad that you no longer have a chase partner to keep Liv entertained. My sympathies. Hang in there.
