Hi, all! I live with my husband of 21 years and our 4 children and numerous pets. Our oldest has high-functioning autism. The rest of the kids are, apparently, normal. I think that siblings can really help a kid with autism, but no doubt there are some costs to the NT siblings of children with autism. That said, Daniel is very kind and helpful to his siblings and the opportunity to be socially competent at home is good for him. I just hope to help him be socially competent in the wider world, too.

Okay. I'm breaking my own rule and showing a photo of all the kids together, but this is a really fun picture. It's the first day of school, this year. The first day that all the kids are going to school-- high school, junior high, elementary, we've got kids all over the place. Thank goodness the two oldest catch the bus, or I'd be insane!

I am so jealous!! I have ALWAYS taken a first day of school picture but this year Chris decided he was too old to do it! Since I am at work at 7 a.m. Jarl takes him to school so he didn't even try to change his mind. I told Chris that I was going to have to draw a stick figure for his scrapbook!!

Awesome!!!! That is so cool you got them all to cooperate too!!! way to go mom!!! I cant remember the last time we actually took a family photo....its been way too long!
