hi my name is seth and i am sixteen years old i am non verbal and i have autism
everyone in a family
you try to breach the silence barrier
to let people get to know you but its awful hard to
act sedate when you panic inside
i mostly want to tell people that we are apparently healthy
but maybe we are really sick and desperate for someone
to decipher all our symptoms and give us a treatment
that will ascertain our recovery and give us a chance to
bolt away from autism and be who we were born to be
we are autistic and sad to say real behaviorally challenged
we are normal in our minds and we are dominated by autism
we totally understand all that is said
highly autistic is actually not lost in autism
though autistic people seem lost
they are just trapped
like fog in the morning
it is trapped between places
mist and water
autism is like that
trapped between what we are and
what we are supposed to be
hard to look typical when we give bad impressions to others
we try peoples patience but we dont mean to
families just hope that others wont notice
but they do
desperate to say help and afraid at the same time
the second you get comfortable autism stares you in the face
and saw that you were somewhat typical then
slams you back into reality
totally happy to say that i do talk in my mind and one
day it will just leak out of my mouth and all will be amazed
glory to god
i will sing his praises loudly with my voice
i welcome any thoughts or questions
seth
god loving friend with autism

Just a little background
When Seth and I set down to type this is what he wrote:
rally autistic parents to let you teach their kids to type like i do
I told him that I don't have any credentials, like a speech therapist
or a teacher and other kids might not be able to type the way he does
(Seth typed) yes they can
he proceeded to write a prayer for me :>

Prayer for Mama's Confidence
By Seth McKinley
lord
you light the way to show ginny the meaning of her life
you just linger in her heart lord
let her listen to the lord of people with hopelessness in their life
join the meaning of her life with the light of your grace and give her the confidence to help highly yearning autistics to have a way to communicate
give her your help
ginny has lingering limits to her abilities
you can open her mind and give her the
confidence she needs
i will politely motivate her
please light her path
i pray in my saviors name
amen and amen

Who would know better than Seth. Really he lives the life of a person with autism. So does anyone know if there is a place that we can take our kids to learn how to communicate through typing? If so please let me know!!!!!!

I don't think Seth is going to take "no" for an answer! It looks like he is lighting that path for you! I really admire you both.

Wow. Seth, you have such an eloquent heart. Ginny, I'd take his advice if I were you.

Thank you Seth, I would love to have your mom teach me how to teach Julian to type and communicate like you do...he tries to talk to me, and he talk with his eyes and heart...I will lift you up in prayer too...I thought I was of no use to other parents and I find that when I start to think this way GOD sends me someone who really needs me...You have done wonderful works with your son and you have been an inspiration to us that I totally agree with Seth, you can teach...and credentials...well no one with credentials has helped Julian yet...so I will follow your example, love flows from the heart to the hands and to all you touch... Thank You Diana.

Your mom egged you on for years - now it's your turn to lift her up. Great job!

Seth, it sounds like you have put your mom on a very worthy mission....And Ginny, how can you feel limited with such prayers and pleas on your behalf?

You have done great raising him! I would be so proud if I can teach my son like that.
