My name is Simran and I am the mother of two beautiful children. My eldest, my son Akshay was diagnosed with ASD in July of 2006.
I know because of him I cannot go weak or feel sorry for myself. He has an immense spirit, goofy sense of humor and a beautiful laugh. I need to fight for the best life possible for him. He didn't choose to have autism but he does. I have to remember that I am the captian of his team!! I know I can do it!

So I have an emergency IEP on Weds Feb 20th due to the "hitting" incident. What I think is so funny is that we've had four prior incidents and the SD on - 02/16/08More.. Akshay graduted form Kindergarten today. A year ago I was planning on holding him back and now I can't believe how much he has grown and changed. My mom said to me at the ceremony, "Look at what all of your hard work has done." Hard work ondeed , and soooo much more to do!
