Zurama's Bio

I am the mother of five children, the youngest Michael or Mickie as we like to call him, was diagnosed with Autism at 22 months old. After years of early intervention therapy, which didn't work. I learned through trial and error that he had underlying biomedical problems that culminated in Autism like symptoms, including, chronic digestive problems since the age of one, when he received the MMR vaccine.
With biomedical interventions, gfcf  and SCD diets, Mickie's body is starting to heal. Some of the most severe symptoms, head banging, night waking, self injurious behaviors are almost gone.
He lost all speech by the age of three. He is now 10 years old and has just started to say mama, for the first time in almost 8 years.

It is scary to think that more mercury is going to be entering our landfields.....who will monitor what gets thrown away? It's crazy...

I am going to buy LEDs myself. I've known about the other CFLs for awhile (that they contain mercury). It sucks to see so many people putting them on a pedestal while so many kids are suffering from what mercury did to their bodies.

There are some safe CFL bulbs, but they cost about $25 a bulb. I wonder why they don't mandate that businesses making more than a certain amount of money have to put up solar panels? Or, how about a tax rebate for home owners or businesses that put up solar panels or wind turbines? There can be great medical reasons for people not all doing the same things.

It is interesting to note, given that spectrum children are so much more sensitive to environmental assaults, and the clean-up required should even one CFL bulb break (http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/cfl.asp and http://www.financialpost.com/story.html?id=aa7796aa-e4a5-4c06-be84-b62dee548fda) there are not more people concerned about the hazards of these bulbs, not to mention the infringment of our rights to make choices in the best interests of our children. The reality is, we'd conserve more energy hanging our wash out on the line and not using dryers than we will using the mandated bulbs.
