Hi my name is Sonya. I have a wonderful husband who works his butt off so I can stay home with the kids Bryan 15, nt and Seoc 4, special needs. Seoc (pronounced Shock, it is Gaelic for Jack, it means God is Gracious) has numerous diagnosis but Autism is the one we struggle with daily. He has the biggest smile and best laugh I have ever heard. He is high functioning and has hyperlexia. He keeps life very interesting to say the least.

Our school year ended two weeks ago, he just started ESY this week. I gave all four of his teacher an small african violet and a thank you card. I put individual notes expressing our thanks for all their hard work, love, care and devotion. That he really loves school and I know that it is because of them making it enjoyable. We are very fortunate to have a great Autism program and my son made wonderful progress his first year in pre-school. I did feel bad because I missed a part time teacher because I had not met her and didn't know she participated in his class daily so I plan on getting her something. I also neglected to Thank his therapist, because I don't see them or talk to them (which I plan on changing in his IEP next year) I just totally blanked on that one and now I feel bad.

Dear Teacher Mrs Sanders for making history fun for Eric, for making him feel comfortable in your SDC classroom, for letting me come in when I wanted to observe with out haveing a twinge of guilt when I walked through your doors. Mr Uranga For opening up Eric's imangination with the books reports, fot giving them certian ways to show how a report does not have to be dull and boring. Mr Will For being that visual teacher in Science that worked with me and Eric who graded fairly and was not afraid to ask questions. Mrs. Gomez For taking Eric into your spanish Class when you saw his eyes light up when speaking to a student in Spanish. You welcomed him with open arms and the two of you have been learning from eachother every since. Mrs Goto I thank you for treating Eric with respect in your math class, when he struggled you took the time out to show him and then let him go it alone and praised him when he did a good job. Mr Laplato For being his adpative PE Teacher for helping him with his skills he was lacking physically. For being a active part of our live in and after school
