I am thankful to all my FoggyRock friends who have helped me on the beginning of this journey with the autism spectrum. When I got here in June of '09, I was heavily researching Asperger's as possibly what was bothering my oldest son, Joshua. He will be four in Dec, and now we have a DAN dr who says PDD-NOS, but not an official diagnosis. So, now I continue and face the reality that my suspicions were right, make peace with it, and keep going.

Interesting topic. At first I was thinking about my first career as a teacher. I have actually always been a stay at home mom, but prior was a teacher. So, I could say God prepared me for working with my son. It's actually quite a bit different and not sure if I'll home school down the road...
Then I thought, I think God gave me my second career to benefit my family. I am an independent jeweler for Premier Designs. It is a direct sales company that prefers to focus on direct service. I cannot express how great it is to work with a company who stresses God first, family second, career third. That means when I need to cut back on my "work" commitments, it's ok. The founders created a company with a high profit return to the jewelers intending to help single moms stay at home w/their kids. I am not a single mom, but I can benefit from the high profit structure they set up. I am able to help with our financial needs but not have someone else have to figure out all that is going on with Josh. I am also thankful for my career as a jeweler because it gets me out with other women, giving me a chance to have fun and time away from GFCF diet research, etc! I meet so many amazing women!
So, I have to say my career is a perfect fit for whatever this Asperger's syndrome brings our way. In the picture are some of my best hosts and customers who came to my home last week to celebrate my 3rd business birthday.
