My name is Kathy and I am the mother of a 17 year old autistic daughter. My Michelle is non-verbal but seems to make her needs known. As for her wants, that is another thing. Sometimes she gets very frustrated and lashes out, at times she can get violent. We are looking into housing and job choices.

We went to my brothers camper today and Michelle was in heaven. She got an entire day of riding the ATVs. I had to go to the store and while I was gone my brother let her steer and use the gas on his atv. Nobody took a pic. She did not do it again. Today was the first time that I have been on one of the things. My honey took me for a ride and laughed like a loon because my backside was bounced all over and I told him that I would be bruised tommorrow. I didn'see the humor in a sore backside.
