I am the Mom of a wonderful little boy that was born with a complex cardiac defect. He has had 2 heart catheter procedures and open heart surgery at 8 months of age. At 15 months, he was diagnosed with Severe Autism. He has since also been diagnosed with Chiari 1 Malformation. Quite a mouthful for one little guy who is now 2 years old.

Because the wait list for therapy for Autism is 2 years long in our province, we took the matter into our own hands and attended the Son-Rise Program at the Option Institute and Autism Treatment Center of America in Sheffield MA.

We are currently running a program for my son with 6 volunteers and my husband and myself. The progress that Riley has made has been incredible. He has recently been re-assessed as having Moderate Autism, which was before he started speaking three months ago.

Riley is our only child and I am a stay at home mom. I wouldn't have it any other way! We are truly blessed with this little Miracle.
