I'm a mumblethirtysomethingmumble mom of three. Our oldest girl, The Munchkin, 10, is gifted and homeschooled. Then we have the twins, age 2, Birdie and The Boy. The Boy has been all but officially diagnosed as autistic, and definitely has substantial sensory issues and is currently nonverbal. Birdie has some minor sensory issues, and never shuts up, although her speech development is just below standard deviation for her age.

The Boy has been "different" from day one, and the twins are not now and never have been vaccinated, which apparently makes us an oddity in this autism journey (early onset?!?! In this day and age?!?! What kind of freaks are we!?!?!). We are just beginning interventions, which include speech therapy (if we can ever get a therapist), Occupational Therapy with Sensory Integration, and an in-home special educator. We are using really a DIY eclectic approach, although the inclusion of some RDI intervention work does appeal strongly to us, and ABA definitely does not.
