Hi all! I am a mother to a almost 5 year old son (Caleb) with autism and a 2.5 year old daughter (Kelsey) with Asperger's. I also have many characteristics in common with the kids which makes dealing twice as hard for me-sensitive hearing, sensory, ADD, and a little auditory processing. I am married to Dennis and we keep our hands full keeping up with the two of them.

His seizures are getting worse. He pees himself too. We got into the neurologist on May 27. That was getting us in early. Its too long to have to wait.

Oh, honey God is listening, and taking notes...but remember one day for Him is how many days for us...I used to think maybe there is someone who is having more problems than us and that is why I have to wait...but the waiting really doesn't seem fair...But i continue to pray, count my blessings, and wait my turn...just like children have to wait their turn, when they all need me for something.

If it gets too bad I will. But these are the petit mal ones. The ones where you reallly have to watch him to know if he is having them. I do not even catch all of them. Its impossible for me to watch his face 24-7. He may have been doing this longer than I think, I just didn't know what they were. This appointment was the emergency one. But I didn't think of calling about cancellations. They are 40 minutes away so I cannot get there that fast, especially if he is at school. I do believe in the power of prayer. In the last year it seems that God is not listening even though I plead for help. I just gotta keep going.

We're all thinking of you...Please let us know if there is something we can do...and please keep us posted. Seizures must be so scary. I would consider ER as well......

Can the pediatrician help get an earlier appointment? Around here neuro's won't see ASD kids unless they have a pre-existing seizure disorder. I would consider the ER especially during a seizure.

I think you should post the #of the office and we will all call and make their life a living @#$%. I am sure they don't want all of us to call every 5 minutes. My thoughts are with you.

I agree----go to the ER. They can call in a neuro consult. A child with seizures that are getting worse should not have to wait to be seen. I cannot believe they didn't take you right away- This isn't a routine consult. Good luck-- Kristin

Rat Fartz, that is all I can say.. I hope it is acute. Our P.O.S. (U can figure out what POS stands for )nero could not get Liv in for about 3 months for her first visit. I called & plead every day that got us in in two weeks. But, I had to stoop to manipulation & beggin. I will do anything for my kid. It is so jacked up

I am so sorry, it is so frustrating when it is something so serious and you have to wait. I am so lucky we are established with the ped. neuro here her waiting list is so long. I agree that if you take him to the E.R. won't they have to call in a neuro consult?? I would call that office every day first thing AM and ask if there are any cancelation that day. Good luck, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Typically - if it's an emergency they can get you in more quickly. Maybe call the Neuro office explain and beg for cancellations, after hours appts, or other associates you can see.

I don't know if you believe in the power of prayer, but I'm praying for Caleb. And for you. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this now. I wish I could help.
