Hi all! I am a mother to a 5 year old Caleb with autism and a 3 year old Kelsey with Asperger's. He is in kindergarten and she is in pre-school. I also have many characteristics in common with the kids which makes dealing twice as hard for me-sensitive hearing, sensory, ADD, and a little auditory processing. I am married to Dennis and we keep our hands full keeping up with the two of them.

Lately I do not have good things to say on here. But today my son showed an iota of patience. I started a social story on patience yesterday and it is showing a little. Baby steps, right?

We were at sports and he wanted his group to go to the blow up rock climbing wall thing but we were still at basketball. I said that they are not ready yet and he waited! He never does that at home!

Patience is amazing! Kids on the spectrum have such a hard time with it. Great job, mom!

Patience is so huge! It means the beginning of understanding and caring about other's thoughts---social understanding. Something really to be proud of!
