Hi all! I am a mother to a 5 year old Caleb with autism and a 3 year old Kelsey with Asperger's. He is in kindergarten and she is in pre-school. I also have many characteristics in common with the kids which makes dealing twice as hard for me-sensitive hearing, sensory, ADD, and a little auditory processing. I am married to Dennis and we keep our hands full keeping up with the two of them.

What is everyone doing this weekend? Anything fun?
We will be venturing off on a eight hour car ride on Saturday to Iowa. We have to bring the dog and she is not so good in the car. We thought we had a dog sitter but it turns out we don't. Good thing I have a new car with a DVD! It will be a life-saver for the kids. I will have to put the kids in pull ups in case of accidents. Sometimes there are areas where there is nowhere to stop. But the whole reason is to visit my Grandma. She is starting to slow down now. She wanted us all to get together. I am afraid for the last time. I wish I could just stay with her for awhile. She is turning 92 in June. I used to stay with her in the summers. I was just so happy there with her. SHe is the best Grandma ever! I sent her some flowers for Mother's Day. I do not have alot of time to show her how I feel but she knows.

We're going to a baseball game one day. Then we might go on a short hike or swim. Have fun on your trip! I'll bet your Grandma does know how you feel. Love her up this weekend!

Swim? I am jealous! The pool does open but it will not be warm enough when I get back.

We really don't have any special plans! Will probably just bbq and swim here at home! Good luck traveling! And if you have room throw in the potty chair lol!
