I am a 48 year old divorced mother of 2 incredible kids. William is 17 and has autism and KC, my daughter, is 15. It has been a while since I have been on this sight as there has been just too much to deal with. My wonderful, beautiful son has been through the ringer this past year. My daughter KC is awe inspiring, talented old soul who can always reach William when no one else can. The teenage years are tough enough but even harder when you have a brother with autism. She does a really incredible job handling everything that is on her plate, but I know she gets frustrated sometimes. Meanwhile their Dad has chosen right now to have what can only be described as a mid-life crisis and went off to hike the Appalachia Trail for 7 months. He is back now with no job and no place to live - just more stress for everyone. Hopefully, this rough patch will pass - keep us in your prayers! I always tell both my kids they are my angels from heaven so it seemed like a logical page name. I finally got a picture to load. I continue to have faith and know somehow we will come through together. Both my children amaze me with their resilience. A good quality to have.

Wow! Your children are angels! That is wonderful that she can reach him when no one else can. My daughter is like that with our son but she is also on the spectrum just not as affected (actually barely affected-only those who know the subtlies pick up on her).
